This sculpture represents the everyday struggles that we encounter in our own lives. The progress of this piece mirrored John's struggles with work at this time in his life. When he began sculpting, he was at a job where he felt pulled out of control. The sculpture started out as a man in great torment--being pulled out of control. In the middle of sculpting this piece John changed employment, which is reflected in the finished figure.
