This was a
piece commissioned by a businessman in Salt Lake City. His
wife loved John's "Black Diamond" and "Beyond Vertical" acrylic
sculptures; but, because her husband did not ski or rock
climb,
she asked John to sculpt dall sheep on acrylic. Her husband, an
avid hunter, had just returned from a dall sheep hunt in Canada.
The sheep worked well with the acrylic because of the icy look
in this medium, which reflects the life style of these animals,
who live on sheer cliffs. |
